Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad

Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad (Anime 2004)- http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0434662/

Hi everybody,
First of all I admit that I haven't exactly saw this recently, but since I consider myself someone that can watch almost everything in tv/movie format, I wanted not only to give my take on Movies and TV shows but Anime, a gender that some people look down because they think is for kids, so if you are one of those persons FACK OFF, if you are in doubt I can recommend some that if you see a couple of episodes you might think otherwise, here they go.

Gantz - About a mysterious black ball that resurrects the dead and uses them in a weird game.
Monster - A show about a surgeon that saves a man of, putting it simply, absolutely no conscience/remorse.
Cowboy Bebop - A show about a crew in a space shuttle, hugely influenced by music and in a noir style.
Elfen Lied - Just a bloody as heel, not my favorite but again definitely not for kids.
Death Note - Well if you don't know this one, I don't know what to tell you.

So why Beck, because the story is good, well but a good story isn't enough, yes, but it has great characters and a few... ok more then a few great moments. The original sound track is great even though there are a few misfires in the singing in english parts but then again if you see it you won't really care for those.

Beck is about a Koyuki a young kid that discovers the power of music , he enters a club and we see the first great moment of this anime, the new world for him on front of his eyes. He starts to hear music and with the influence Ryuusuke, a guy that plays guitar and has the ambition of creating a great band. Koyuki secretly start to learn to play the guitar.

If you don't wan't to know to much skip the next paragraph.

After a while Ryuusuke form his band with drummer a singer a bassist, they play for a while and Koyuki keeps learning more about the guitar. A good think about this is that all the characters are different from each other and you will enjoy their interactions. One day Ryuusuke hear Koyuki singing and it sounds good, he joins the band and they go on to play at a large festival. There is a slick manager that doesn't like them and they have to surpass some difficulties.

So this is a very short synopsis of Beck, if you like music you should definitely give it a chance, if you like a cool story even if music isn't your thing give it a chance anyway, look, it's better then watching CSI and all that shows that are always the same recycled shit.

In the end I would like to explain for those that don't know how the anime/manga scene happens in Japan. Here it goes.
In USA a tv show normally goes like this, someone writes a script, a tv buy's it, a pilot gets made, the tv watch it, if they like they order some (6 normally) and they star airing it, if it tanks they cancel it, if it does, good, they order a full season. This you probably already know.

In Japan things happen a little different, there are a few exception like Death note, but normally this is how it goes: a writer/mangaka gets published in a magazine with other writers, he get some pages of their story can be every week or every mouth, and yes I'm talking about comics,  If the comics does good they make a anime out of it, some might differ a little from the original but normally it's just the same if you think about it it's just like a storyboard, the show gets done but there are ones that the full published material is animated and others that are just animated a part of them, they make the break in a part that makes sense. There is one more step that is real life acting they sometimes make a movie out of the manga or even a tv show, hope you understand how it goes.

Unfortunately Beck wasn't animated the full material but it's not because it's bad, it's just because of how thing go over there.

I'm not going to put it on a scale it because you already know that I like it a lot, so bye, and I will write again as soon as I get to see something I want to write about.

Ps: don't watch the english version, watch japanese with subs.
