Silver Linings Playbook - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1045658/
Hi, it's been too long, and because I didn't got the chance to see anything in the theater i let some days go by.
After the oscars nominee, not that that cares so much, I felt like writing about the biggest surprise this year, even if it doesn't win any.
When you search about it you may read that it's a comedy, but it ins't, for me it's in the same category as Sideways or The descendants, so if you go by that it may actually have some chances, I'm a big fan off Payne's Movies, so I'm a fan of the gender, that being said let's move on to the movie itself.
So what is the movie about, on the surface is about a bipolar man that exits the mental house after being committed ordered by the court, when he exits we meet his (not so normal) family. Then he meets a girl and a strange relationship starts developing between them, I believe that this you can extract for the trailer.
Digging deeper the movie is about looking to your life in a positive perspective, even when you are down if you choose to believe that it will get better it will indeed, there is always room for a second chance well unless you die, then the person you are with has a second chance (you will get it if you had saw the movie)
The most important aspect of filmmaking i take from this movie, and again specially on the script, is the importance of backstory, because characters don't just appear from nowhere, and in this one that is evident in every scene.
This film on the other hand in a great example of a good script without a villan/ antagonist, well there is one but it is not characterized in the way they normally are. There are two big opposition in the main character during the script, his disease and his wife (well the relationship with her)
Well, like i said before I liked it, slice of life like the Japanese call it sometimes, and this is a film that you can really explore the subtext and the message behind the story.
So this is it for today, hope you have a good one.
I almost forgot, go Pats, being this a movie about football it seemed appropriate.
